Many of you are likely aware that this website hasn’t been maintained in a while.

The reason is quite personal: Stefan was fighting cancer while also dealing with severe side effects from his medicines. Tragically, at this tough time, we were also losing his mother to cancer – the one who cared for him with all of her love and courage.

Fighting cancer requires a lot of strength, not just from the individual who is unwell but also from those around them. We needed time for us to gather our strength and faith to go through this. That’s why we couldn’t provide updates. But now we’re returning – with optimism and a message. Stefan’s book is going to be published soon. In this book, he describes his personal battle with cancer. He hopes that his tale can serve as a guide for those facing similar challenges. It is also a powerful reminder not to give up. Stefan defeated cancer. You can do it, too. Thank you for your continued support and affection. ❤️

Durch Schmerz und Heilung: Eine Botschaft der Hoffnung für alle Kämpfer

Viele von euch wissen wahrscheinlich, dass diese Seite schon länger nicht gepflegt wurde.

Der Grund ist sehr persönlich: Stefan kämpfte gegen Krebs und hatte gleichzeitig mit starken Nebenwirkungen der Medikamente zu tun. Tragischerweise haben wir in dieser schweren Zeit auch seine Mutter durch Krebs verloren – sie war diejenige, die ihn mit all ihrer Liebe und ihrem Mut gepflegt hat.

Krebs zu bekämpfen erfordert viel Kraft – nicht nur von der erkrankten Person, sondern auch von den Menschen um sie herum. Wir brauchten Zeit, um unsere eigene Stärke und unseren Glauben zu sammeln, um diese Zeit zu überstehen.

Deshalb konnten wir keine Updates geben. Aber jetzt kehren wir zurück – mit Optimismus und einer Botschaft.

Stefans Buch wird bald veröffentlicht.
In diesem Buch beschreibt er seinen persönlichen Kampf gegen den Krebs. Er hofft, dass seine Geschichte anderen als Wegweiser dienen kann, die vor ähnlichen Herausforderungen stehen. Es ist auch eine starke Erinnerung daran, niemals aufzugeben.

Stefan hat den Krebs besiegt. Du kannst das auch schaffen.

ผ่านความเจ็บปวดและการเยียวยา: ข้อความแห่งความหวังสำหรับผู้ที่กำลังต่อสู้

หลายคนอาจทราบแล้วว่าเพจนี้ไม่ได้รับการดูแลมาสักพักหนึ่ง

เหตุผลเป็นเรื่องส่วนตัวมาก: สเตฟานต้องต่อสู้กับโรคมะเร็ง พร้อมกับผลข้างเคียงจากยาที่รุนแรงมาก ในช่วงเวลาที่ยากลำบากนี้ เราก็ต้องสูญเสียแม่ของเขาไปด้วยโรคมะเร็ง — ผู้ที่ดูแลเขาด้วยความรักและความกล้าหาญทั้งหมดที่เธอมี

Our son Stefan was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in November 2016, but in June 2017   no cancer cells were found.

On a follow-up examination, an unusual big lymph gland was found and the biopsy result showed that Stefan has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma again.

Stefan gets cancer treatment in Siriraj Hospital. He gets new medicine and needs bone marrow transplantation. The costs of his treatment are very high and therefore it is necessary to ask for a donation.

Stefan decided to be a doctor of oncology and want to find a cancer cure.  Help him to get well and make him able to make his dream come true.

Any Donation not needed for his treatment will be donated to Siriraj Cancer Research.

 

น้องสเตฟาน เป็นลูกชายของ ดิฉัน ได้ป่วยเป็นโรคมะเร็งต่อมน้ำเหลืองชนิด Hodgkin’s และได้รับการรักษาโดยการให้คีโม และ การฉายรังสี ตั้งแต่เดือนพฤศจิกายน 2016 จนถึง เดือนมิถุนายน 2017 ซึ่งโรคดังกล่าวก็ได้สงบไปแล้ว

ในการตรวจติดตามผลหลังจากการรักษาคุณหมอได้ตรวจพบต่อมน้ำเหลืองโตผิดปกติ ผลการตรวจชิ้นเนื้อปรากฏว่าเป็นมะเร็งต่อมน้ำเหลืองอีกครั้ง และกำลังรักษาตัว ที่โรงพยาบาลศิริราช ต้องให้ยาที่แรงกว่า และ ต้องปลูกถ่ายไขกระดูก ซึ่งมีค่าใช้จ่ายสูง

จึงมีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องขอรับบริจาคเงินช่วยเหลือ เพื่อรักษาตัวของน้องสเตฟาน ให้หายขาดจากโรคดังกล่าว

เพราะน้องสเตฟาน อยากจะทำตามความฝันของตัวเองให้เป็นความจริงที่จะเป็นหมอรักษาโรคมะเร็ง

ส่วนเงินบริจาคที่เหลือหลังจากการรักษาเสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว จะนำเงินไปให้กับมูลนิธิของโรงพยาบาลศิริราช เพื่อใช้ในการวิจัยโรคมะเร็งต่อไป

🎓 MUIC-SGU Doctor of Medicine Press Conference

Mahidol University International College (MUIC) and St. George’s University (SGU) held on 30. June 2018 a press conference at Intercontinental Hotel to inform the public about their new pre-med pathway programme between the Universities. Event Highlights was

  • Learn about new pre-med Pathway Programme specially tailored for students in Thailand.
  • Get update on tuition scholarships worth over 100K US$/student which will be granted to students joining this new Pathway Programme.
Since Stefan wants to be a doctor and plans to study at Mahidol University he attended this press conference.

Success in New York

The 13-Year-old cancer warrior and survivor Stefan Quint did the next step and represented Chindamanee School English Program, Bangkok, Thailand, at this year’s Genius Olympiad in Oswego, New York. The science project, which he presented together with his school mate Serra Yay, was about the use of seaweed to produce bio-plastic with the target to decrease plastic waste.

Around 1200 students from 72 countries attended the 8th Genius Olympiad. This year 406 out of 897 science projects was selected for the finals at the State University of New York in Oswego. Stefan and Serra were two of the youngest participants at this Olympiad and they received honorable mention, which is a fantastic good result for these young students.

Stefan got well-known in 2017 for his achievements at several International Mathematics Olympiads while fighting against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma receiving chemo therapy and radiation treatment and through his amazing attitude. Today the young boy is in remission and he is trying to raise awareness about Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a dangerous art of blood-cancer from which a lot of young children suffer.

Year 2018 starts with Silver medal

Stefan Quint won last Saturday, 24. February, another silver medal at the International Math Challenge 2018.

The from the Ministry of Education recognized and supported Event was held at Pan Asia International School and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, Lat Krabang. 

Stefan became famous last year for winning several medals at different international Mathematics Olympics while he was in an much bigger fight against cancer.

Right now he has defeated the cancer, but is still under medical supervision and misses many lessons because of the regular doctor visits. Despite these bad conditions, he only missed a few points to the gold medal.

The inspirational story of this 13 year old Boy, who never gave up, teaches us:

Where there is a will, there is a way.

สุดยอด! นักเรียนไทยคว้าเหรียญคณิตศาสตร์โอลิมปิก ขณะกำลังป่วยมะเร็งต่อมน้ำเหลือง

มาอีกแล้วกับเรื่องน่ายินดีและน่าชื่นชม ของตัวแทนนักเรียนไทยที่เดินทางไปแข่งขันคณิตศาสตร์โอลิมปิกนานาชาติ ครั้งที่ 3 ที่สิงคโปร์ เมื่อช่วงกลางเดือน ก.ค.ที่ผ่านมา และได้รับรางวัลเหรียญทองกลับมาฝากคนไทยถึง 3 เหรียญ สร้างชื่อเสียงให้ประเทศไทย ซึ่งน้องตัวแทน 1 ใน 3 ยังป่วยเป็นโรคมะเร็งต่อมน้ำเหลือง ระยะที่ 3 แต่กลับมีหัวใจแกร่งคว้าเหรียญทองมาครองได้

โดยรางวัลที่น้องทั้ง 3 คนได้รับ มีดังนี้

น้องซีเหวิน  หรือ ด.ช. อัธเศรษฐ์  กนกวุฒิธำรง อายุ 10 ปี นักเรียนชั้น ป. 5 ได้รางวัลเหรียญทองจากการแข่งขันประเภท Paper test

น้องมุก นางสาวมณิสรา จิรพรสุวรรณ อายุ 15 ปี นักเรียนชั้น ม. 3 ได้รางวัลเหรียญทองแดงจากการแข่งขันประเภท Paper test

ด.ช.สเตฟาน ควิ้นท (ใส่แว่น ภาพด้านล่าง ใส่กางเกงสีน้ำเงิน) อายุ 13 ปี นักเรียนชั้น ม.1 โรงเรียนจินดามณี กทม. ได้รางวัลเหรียญทอง จากการแข่งขันประเภท Maths Warriors โดย ด.ช.สเตฟาน กำลังป่วยเป็นมะเร็งต่อมน้ำเหลืองระยะที่ 3 ตั้งแต่เดือน พ.ย.2559 ก็ต้องเข้าออกโรงพยาบาลเพื่อรักษาตัวมาโดยตลอด ผ่านการฉายแสงไปแล้ว 20 ครั้ง และทำเคมีบำบัดหรือคีโมไปอีก 6 ครั้ง

แต่ยังมีกำลังใจที่ดีจากคนรอบข้าง จนเป็นแรงผลักดันในการฝึกฝนวิชาคณิตศาสตร์ ทำให้ประสบความสำเร็จได้ในที่สุด น้องสเตฟาน ชอบเรียนวิชาคณิตศาสตร์และวิทยาศาสตร์ เพราะโตขึ้นอยากเป็นหมอไปรักษาคนไข้ ส่วนเทคนิคการเรียน คือจะไม่ท่องจำ แต่ทำความเข้าใจ ตั้งใจเรียนในชั้นเรียนให้ได้มากที่สุด หากสงสัยให้ถามครูทันที

ยังไงก็ขอเป็นกำลังใจให้กับเด็กเก่ง หัวใจแกร่งคนนี้ รวมถึงน้องๆ ที่กำลังตั้งใจเรียนทุกคน ให้ประสบความสำเร็จดั่งที่ใจหมาย สู้ๆ นะคะ และหากใครที่อยากแข่งขันและได้รับรางวัลแบบน้องๆ เหล่านี้ ก็อย่าลืมเลือกวิชาที่ถนัด สนใจและใส่ใจฝึกฝนให้เต็มที่ รับรองว่าความสำเร็จอยู่ไม่ไกลแน่นอน

Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha sent his sincerest admiration to Stefan  in his television program of 28 July 2017th.

“I’d like the Thai people to have the ability for perseverance in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, such as Stefan Quint, a first grade student with stage 3 cancer who won a gold medal at the International Mathematic Olympiad in Singapore. I’d like to express my sincerest admiration to Mr. Stefan and his family.”
