วันนี้ (26 ก.ค.2560) พล.ท.สรรเสริญ แก้วกำเนิด โฆษกประจำสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี กล่าวว่า พล.อ.ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี บอกว่า ได้รับทราบข่าวอาการป่วยของน้องสเตฟาน ควิ้นท อายุ 13 ปี นักเรียนชั้น ม.1 โรงเรียนจินดามณี ที่เพิ่งเป็นตัวแทนนักเรียนไทยไปแข่งขันคณิตศาสตร์โอลิมปิกนานาชาติ ครั้งที่ 3 ที่สิงคโปร์ เมื่อช่วงกลางเดือน ก.ค.ที่ผ่านมา และได้รับรางวัลเหรียญทองกลับมาฝากคนไทย ในขณะที่ตนเองกำลังป่วยเป็นโรคมะเร็งต่อมน้ำเหลือง ระยะที่ 3
“นายกรัฐมนตรี ให้กำลังใจน้องสเตฟาน และครอบครัว ให้สามารถต่อสู้กับโรคร้ายและหายจากอาการป่วยโดยเร็วที่สุด รวมทั้งสานฝันของตนเองให้สำเร็จ โดยทราบว่าแม้โรคดังกล่าวจะบั่นทอนกำลังกายของสเตฟานไปบ้าง แต่ยังมีจิตใจที่เข้มแข็ง รวมทั้งได้ให้สัญญากับตัวเอง และคุณพ่อ คุณแม่ ว่าจะขอสู้กับโรคร้ายจนหายดี เพื่อให้เรียนจบเป็นแพทย์เฉพาะทางรักษาโรคมะเร็งในอนาคตต่อไป”
